2010 unfurls

Filed under: Uncategorized — by gardenpatch @ 4:37 pm

I just looked at my last post swearing not to start seeds again. Hmmm…well a long, grey winter will do funny things to a desparate gardener.

I started the following this past Sunday (3/14):
Tomato ‘Sweetie’ (cherry)
Tomato ‘Bellstar’ (paste)
Brocolli ‘Di Ciccio’
Brussel sprouts

And on Sunday, 3/7, I hauled a bunch of willow and aspen leaves from the front yard to the main garden bed. I moved the beds last year to downsize the garden, so the main bed is now in a grassy area. Rather than dig up the sod, I covered it with said leaves, and unloaded a bin of compost that sat all winter. Will be picking up some bagged top soil this weekend, so the layers have a few weeks to sit before planting.
